Small Mammals - Squirrel, Hedgehog, Rabbit etc.

1. Move the animal away from immediate danger. Gloves, newspaper or an old cloth will protect your hands from hedgehog spines.

2. Check for signs of life.

3. Gently put the animal in: Hedgehog, high sided cardboard box. Squirrel, and rabbit, a cat box or cage. The container can be lined with newspaper and an old cloth if possible And put a small pot of water in the container.

4. Put the animal in the container in a warm, dry, dark, quiet place in the house if possible.



Very Small Mammals - Bat, Vole, Dormouse etc.

1. Use gloves to move a bat.

2. Put the animal in a small container with a lid with small holes in it. Use paper towel or a cloth in the base.

3. A small container of water should be provided.

Remember bats sleep upside down!

Moles can bite, protect your hands.
Put the mole in a plastic container with ventilation in the lid. Put in a dark, safe and quiet place.
